A Year On Ice DVD

Advantages: A very entertaining dvd that teaches children about healthy eating.

...I am 21 years old and i remember watching this dvd and reading the book as a child and i loved it. Now i have it in my household for the entertainment of both my children and the many foster children that have passed through my home and never has a child not liked this. It is a classic dvd loved by children of all ages. In it a very hungry caterpillar has a bite of every food imaginable including ice cream and cakes and then gets a very poorly tummy from eating too much food. The caterpillar turns into a butterfly at the end so not only does it teach children not to eat greadily but it teaches them part of the lifecycle of a catterpillar. My daughter is 4 years old and loves to guess what the catterpillar is going to eat next. It has provided hours of entertainment and i would highly recomended it.... Read review

Advantages: Great Movie, Fantastic Scenes
Disadvantages: Some of it made me jump!

...I'm not a huge fan of disaster movies (ie Independance Day, Armageddon..) but this one was fantastic. Wasn't planning on seeing it, but it was the only movie starting around the time myself and my boyfriend turned up at the cinema so thought what the heck just go see it. And I'm so glad I did. It starts of with Jack Hall giving an important speech about the possible chance of the world going through a second ice age because of the melting of the ice caps causing a disturbance to the flow of heat above the equator. (Which face it, could very well damn happen!!!!) He is campaigning to world leaders to stop thinking about their bank balances and doing something to save the world, as this ice age could happen within 100 years. In true movie style, 100 years is simply too far away and infact, the climate starts to make a startling change... Read review
