Advantages: I still find it funny Disadvantages: Only six episodes from series two and three, Barbara Durkin
...have the ability to morph, though this tends to bring about trouble...
The DVD features episodes from series two and three (no canned laughter here), whereby the children (Danielle McCormack, Alex Kew and Charlotte Francis) had pretty much settled into their characters roles. These episodes see parent Sophie Johnson being played by Barbara Durkin and then Carla Mendoca, whom, in the episode of transition ('Crazy For You'), fits nicely into her role. Her partnership with Tony Gardner as Mr. Johnson is one which I had perhaps become too familiar with - I find the earlier episodes with Barbara irritating, her voice seems naturally high and she comes across as patronising. But I'm forgiving of the delivery since she is playing an alien whom is not accustomed to the way of human life.
As the parents are able to morph into other people...

Peep Show Review ofPeep Show - Series2 - Complete DVDby
shauniemac
Advantages: Incredibly funny Disadvantages: May be too dry for some
...Filmed from the two main characters perspectives it is in some respects a fly on the wall comedy.
I first came across Peep Show during the drunken hours of a late night on Channel 4. I was laughing from beginning to end. Peep Show is making a move into the mainstreamnow and was nominated for several comedy awards.
Peep Show gets much stronger from series to series and this is certainly evident in the six episodes featured in series2.
It is a DVD you can watch over and over again without becoming bored of it.
I definately recommend this DVD to anyone who enjoys dry comedy as Peep Show will become a cornerstone of comedy in years to come.
Go out and buy it!...

Advantages: Looks great Disadvantages: Ultimately shallow
...only to have it fizzle out or not impress enough. We aren't blown away and although we watch just to try and catch some little inside joke or visual gag, we end up realising that it's not going to happen and we're bored.
Burton has made some great films over the years and will no doubt wow us for years to come but Mars Attacks isn't a great example of the man. If you loved Ed Wood or Batman, you'll be disappointed. Will anyone enjoy it? Hmm, tricky. The Nintendo generation will find that their 2 second attention span is well catered for but anyone who is looking for more than a seemingly endless parade of big guns and flashy explosions will soon find it to be a switch off...
