Over the years I have been to Paignton Zoo lots of times so I thought I would write a review and recommend it to everyone so here is my day at the zoo and what I thought of it.
Having been here before I knew to wear a comfortable pair of shoes not a time for high heels girl?s comfortable shoes as the day involves some walking (lets just say there is 75 acres). I would recommend that you don?t set yourself an hour or two to get round the zoo this is basically an all day trip as there is so much to see and do.
Well we got to the zoo at about 10am the zoo has just opened and already it was busy, first stop is to buy the guide book costing £2.50 which does seem a little bit pricey however it contains a map, a break down of the areas, what you can do to help the zoo and other things its overall 44 pages of good reading.

Advantages: Big Dinosaur meets zoo animals - what can I say Disadvantages: having to watch it over and over again
I'm sure all of you will have heard of Barney at some stage but if you aren't sure what this big purple dinosaur is about I'll explain. He is brought to life by children's imaginations and is joined by them on their adventures along with 2 younger dinosaurs called Baby Bop and BJ. Barney has been around as long as I can remember and is a great teaching aid in a variety of areas including counting, abc's, and music as well as introducing morals and manners. He can be a bit overbearing for parents but my kids have always liked Barney and this is especially good for pre-school children.
In this video Barney goes outside into the real world which is a bit more unusual as previous videos have involved studio settings. He takes BJ and Baby Bop to the zoo and they all have plenty of fun on their day out. As well as being educational in ...

Other Attractions in the Zoo
There is a nice big cafe at the back of the castle which is open all day and sells hot and cold food and drinks, as well as having an ice cream selection. You can choose to sit inside or outside depending how sunny it is. There is additional seating in a room to the back of it which means it doesn't get full even at lunchtime. I found the prices to be quite average compared to other cafes.
Towards the middle of the zoo, there is a visitor centre. This is mainly an area used for children visiting on school trips and so we didn?t enter this area. The activities that take place in there though involve interaction from the children.
