Lets start at the beginning, Martial means war, not flashy ballet type displays by nice teenagers in nice fluffy colorful outfits, not sitting around meditating all day and definitely not sport.
So what are we left with? Real Martialarts, i.e. the arts necessary for you to defend your self with in all situations.
But even this is not the complete answer because we are all different and the techniques that an 8 stone woman would use are obviously gonna be different to those that a 15 stone man would use.
In effect we are looking for a bunch of proven (as far as possible) techniques and principles for each individual to *dip* into and sort out what works for them.

Martialarts aren’t all flying kicks and roundhouses as you are led to believe from the many films of Bruce Lee and the like. In fact statistics prove that most real fights end up on the floor at some point. In fact I can remember many fights I have seen or had end up on the floor. Although the fights I had that ended on the floor were the result of some great punches. Many of you will never have heard of martialarts cross training or mixed martialarts, as it’s now known. Read on and you will hopefully get a useful insight into what this modern type of fighting is.
