Advantages: Unusual comedy with fantastic visual effects
Disadvantages: Won't appeal to people who dislike originality and surreal humour

Adam and Barbara are very normal, if a little boring couple, though when you meet some of the other characters later this contrast becomes striking. Adam and Barbara are soon faced with a dilemma as a new (living) family moves into their home. They are informed that they can still remain in the house but are given tips to scare the family away. This part of the film is absolutely brilliant and the special effects are wonderfully suited to the feel and artistic style of the film. ...Eight Below & Snow Dogs I bought Snow Dogs on video years ago when it first came out and really enjoyed it so when I saw the 2 piece set of this and the new similar film on DVD I went and bought it from play.com as I already wanted to replace my old copy of Snow Dogs with a DVD so this was the best reason to do so. Advantages: Good actors, something for all the family, fun storyline
Disadvantages: not exactly entirely factually correct (regarding the exhibits, so I hear)

...advertised and I decided I quite wanted to get the DVD, to see what all the fuss was about I guess and I quite like to purchase the odd genuinely well made family movie once in a while. This is definately one. The film isn't one of those that feels like it relies purely on the actors, ie the story itself is interesting and entertaining too, though the actors do play their characters, in my opinion, very well. Ben Stillers performance in this movie is particularly good, he interacts with the various other characters (in CGI or not) very well, scenes featuring him with a particularly cheeky monkey that steals his keys and with Rexy the T Rex are particularly entertaining.
