Blurb: Jousting, favourite sport of virtually everyone but only lords can compete. By chance one day, William Thatcher(Heath Ledger) has to take a lords place and joust in his stead. Inspired by this, he sets about to enter the jousting tornaments(even though he isn't a lord) and compete with the best in the world. With help from his friends and a new aquaintance(Paul Bettany) he is sure to succeed. But when he comes up against the rutheless Count Adhemar, you know theres going to be a fight.

Review: I honestly really liked this film and so does everyone that I know(those who've seen it of course). It starts with a jousting crowd clapping along we will rock you and this pretty much sums up the film. It is a partially satirical look at life before t.v. and stuff and is immensely entertaining. Paul Bettany is superb in it as the poet Geoffrey Chaucer and all the characters are likeable, even Heath Ledger. I didn't think that the extended cut and the whopping extra 10 minute of film improved on the original immensely and the special features leave a lot to be desired but I'd still buy it over the original. Definitely worth a buy as you will probably watch it several times over.

I liked this film, it was good. You've mentioned the extras which is good, but you really need to add more detail regarding the plot, characters etc. My advice would be to have a look round the site at other peoples reviews for some ideas. Ailran, Dempsey_review and Soho_Black are great examples :-) I only ever did one DVD review - i was that bad lol You'll do far better than me i'm sure! Sarah xx
