Ned Kelly - not bad, just misunderstood
Review of Ned Kelly (Wide Screen) by Bill_Oddie

Advantages: Long overdue big-budget version of a great story
Disadvantages: Confusing, Biased (pro-Kelly), and Made-up

...Ned Kelly is an incredible film. Not due to the story, cinematography, acting, or indeed anything positive about the latest big-budget version now available on Sky Movies and DVD. The amazing thing about this movie is that I have never before sat and watched a bio-pic where I knew less about the character at the end of the film than I did at the start. ...and I knew nothing about Mr Kelly to begin with. This is a very confused and confusing story told in such a biased manner it takes either a supreme intellect, or equally supreme idiocy to get something out of it. If anyone reading this felt this film did enhance their lives then I am sure you fall into the former category. After all, Ciao is not a place for idiots. THE STORY Ned Kelly is a name known by just about all, yet a legend known properly by very few. The true story seems... Read review

Heath is the real Knight!!!!!
Review of A Knight's Tale (Wide Screen) by Princess_pretty18

Advantages: Heath Ledger
Disadvantages: None!!

...The 14th Century takes on a new look in 'A KNIGHTS TALE', an exiting, action-packed comedic adventure. Starring HEATH LEDGER (10 things i hate about you, Ned Kelly), with hilarious preformances from MarkAddy (the full monty), Paul Bettany (Gangster No. 1), Alan Tudyk (28 days), and also Shannyn Sossamon. ok the the film is about a peasent squire who breakes all of the rules, wehn he passes himself as a knight and calles himself Sir Ulric Von Lichenstien from Gelderland and goes to compete in the jousting ring!! He wins all of his games, and then while all of this is happening Sir Ulric Von Lichenstien from Gelderland, falls madly in love for Jocelyn. ok so then there is this guy called Chaucer, he has a gambaling problem and is stripped of all of his clothes but soon gets then back! Sir Ulric Von Lichenstien from Gelderland... Read review

The Man in The Iron Suit
Review of Ned Kelly (Wide Screen) by adamsputnik

Advantages: lovely cinematography, some good performances and an interesting view of an infamous life
Disadvantages: a tad melodramatic, some annoying love scenes and a definite creative license!

...in a rather muted, very washed-out way, and it gives it a bit of mystique. The imagery is beautiful, something which, as a local, I believe is borne out in reality, but the portrayal of the stage where this movie is set is nothing short of masterful, and certainly sets the movie apart from others even if it doesn't actually lift the story itself. The story of Ned Kelly is told from his late adolescence, trying to scratch out a living in northern Victoria with his mother, brother and sisters. He makes ends meet working on the farms and also as a streetfighter in the frontier, rough-as-guts towns that sprung up, generally at the source of gold or some other lucrative resource. His old man had run-ins with the police, which if I remember correctly led to his death, and so young Ned carried more than a little animosity towards the coppers... Read review
