In the Middle Ages, before television or professional sports, there's only one form of competition to separate the men from the boys: jousting tournaments. William Thatcher (Heath...
more...Ledger), a poor and humble squire, has always dreamed of proving himself worthy as a knight in a jousting match. When he gets a lucky chance seeing an opportunity to disguise himself in the identity of a knight William decides to maintain the illusion for as long as possible. He is aided by his friends Wat (Alan Tudyk), Roland (Mark Addy), and Geoffrey Chaucer (Paul Bettany), a writer with a knack for forging official papers. Under his new title, Sir Ulrich of Liechtenstein, William wins tournaments and receives monetary awards. However, the only way for William to prove himself as truly noble and win the heart of the beautiful Jocelyn (Shannyn Sossamon) is to beat all of his enemies, including the arrogant and undefeated Count Adhemar (Rufus Sewell), in a series of jousts. Writer-director Brian Helgeland creates a unique blend of rousing adventure, comedy, and modern sensibility in A KNIGHT'S TALE, giving a contemporary make-over to the medieval genre with a soundtrack that includes hit songs from Queen, David Bowie, Sly & the Family Stone, and Thin Lizzy.

Before we talk about the film itself lets talk about blu-ray. Blu ray discs can hold up to around 50gb which is a huge improvement from the standard dvd which can hold around 5 at the max. Blu rays work by using an incredibly thin laser to read the disc therefore more information can be stored on the disc resulting in a much higher picture and sound quality.

A Knight's Tale is the story of three conmen who use a drunken knight to win jousting fights for them. When the knight dies with one round left Will Thatcher takes the knight's place and wins the tournament. He then believes that he has a chance to become one of the best jousters while his mates think he is an idiot Will becomes determined to follow his dream.

This story involes witty jokes and a storyline that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout. Is Will going to be accepted as a knight? Will he defeat Count Adhemer? And will he get the girl?

The acting is all British so you know it is good. It gives us a breath of fresh air from your usual American accented movie. The actors are wellknown and very good which help make this movie great.

This movie is full of action which uses great high-tech graphics to make the jousting more realistic and gives the movie a real edge. I higly recommend you buy this movie if you haven't seen this film before because it is worth watching and watching again and again.
