From the 1970's it has to be said that the quality of television begins to improve in quality, and this DVD provides such evidence in terms of being able to watch cricket on a television. England win the series 5-1 though this is mainly down to the Australian team signing up to the World series event and unable to play against England. From a historical factual point of view, the details contained here make this really a most enjoyable sporting history film to watch.

...Bryan Adams has been a very popular draw in Ireland for years and it was no surprise to me when it was announced he would play Slane Castle,in Co.Meath,Ireland.Slane is the biggest outdoor event in Ireland,a natural amphitheatre set on a beautiful estate with Slane Castle to one side.
This was the Irish leg of Adams world tour,and in true Irish style,the thousands of fans were once again in form for a great nights entertainment by one of the worlds best rock vocalists.
The camera work was superb,capturing the atmosphere which had reached fever pitch by the time the band took to the stage.
Guitarist Keith Scott,Drummer Mickey Carey and the man himself arrived onstage complete with life size balloons that they kicked into the crowd and then the opening riff to "Back To You" began.The crowds immediately...

...When I sat down over Christmas 2007 to watch a BBC showing of "The History Boys", I did so with no real expectations. I was aware it was written by Alan Bennett, who was someone I was aware of, but whose work had largely passed me by. I also knew that it had started life as a highly successful play, but that was about the extent of my knowledge. I thought it would make for acceptable enough background noise as I read my book, never thinking that not only would the book be forgotten that night, but that the DVD would soon go straight onto my Amazon Wishlist and soon become part of my collection.
