..."groom" hat and status to a best friend. Cut to after the opening credits, however, and we still find he is waking up next to one of the strippers (Becky), to his horror. And why is he waking up? His mother-in-law to be is ringing just in case her daughter Karen has got there yet. Cue a chase for Becky's underwear, and her quick exit. She seems safely out of the way, the undies are safely lodged in the toilet cystern, and said fiancee can arrive, ... ...that wouldn't make much of a film, would it, were it to end there? (It's debatable whether the whole thing *does* make much of a film, but there you go.) No, our hero now finds himself unable to get away from Becky. And, horror of horrors, they also meet at one of the parties to be held in the week prior to the ...

Advantages: Funny and well written Disadvantages: You've seen it all before...
A guy thing.
A guy thing is another one of those Hollywood movies that fits the modern age in that it's quite funny, quite well written and quite well acted. It's a film starring a seemingly tiny group of 'in' or 'it' actors including Julia Stiles and Selma Blair, and is typical of movies of this genre. This is not a movie that will change the world, but it's certainly funny and is a good way to pass a couple of hours by!
Although the title is ... ...to 'girls' although it is a nice inoffensive amiable comedy that trundles along and is very watchable. It is well written and the action does keep moving and will keep you interested and it has some very funny scenes (my favourite is the one with the barrier and the car). The film very possible represents every guy's worst nightmare as Paul decides who he should take up the aisle...

...lined with Becky's psychotic ex, a very graceful fat man, soiled women's underwear and a nasty case of crabs.
I won't spoil the, in my opinion, boring, let-down of an ending. But it's nothing you wouldn't have seen coming a mile off anyway.
That being said, the comedy was good. The gags that were supposed to be funny, were, in fact, very funny. And the acting itself wasn't half bad. Jason Lee's been in better roles i'll admit, but at least he gets ...

DVD Description
Paul (Jason Lee) is about to marry Karen (Selma Blair), by all accounts the perfect woman. Yet at his 'bachelor party,' he finds himself smitten by a clumsy Tiki-girl, Becky (Julia Stiles), and wakes up hung over the next morning only to find her in his bed. Guilt-stricken by the situation, he would like to tell Karen what he did. The only problem is that he doesn't remember what happened. As Paul tries to find out the truth, the discovery that Becky is actually his fiancee's cousin is all the more shocking. And to make matters even worse, Becky's psychotic ex-boyfriend, Ray (Lochlyn Munro), is a crooked cop who is determined to get Paul out of Becky's life by any means necessary. Ultimately, Paul must decide whether to marry Karen and take the logical next step, or to take a cue from Becky and embrace his more spontaneous and creative side. This slightly quirky romantic comedy from director Chris Koch (SNOW DAY) features a healthy dose of slapstick from Lee, who is well-suited for the role. James Brolin appears as Karen's macho father, and Julie Hagerty plays Paul's mildly flaky mother.
