This boxset includes 6 discs from the first Season, which aired in 1955. Watching every single episode in this boxset will take up 16 hours of time. I remember Alfred Hitchcock presents from the remakes in the 80s. When I spotted this boxset I decided to buy it as the 1950's originals held more appeal for me.
These episodes are classics and in my opinion better than the remakes. Each episode is introduced by Alfred Hitchcock, his introductions are funny and a good set up to the episode that is just about to be seen. He also appears at the end of each episode. I find this boxset very addictive as well. I sit down to watch one episode and it seems to stay on for a lot longer.

Advantages: great songs Disadvantages: the contrived ending
...Towards the end of the summer season without fail TV producers will screen that all time classic 'Grease'. Filmed towards the end of the seventies but set in 1950s high school, 'Grease' is one of those films that represent teenage life no matter what decade you grew up in.
Starring Olivia Newton John as a fresh faced, very virginial, Sandy and John Travolta as a leather clad leader of the 'T-Birds'. The film follows Travolta's Danny and his 'rep to protect'trying to disguise his love for the prim and proper Sandy.
Set against other storylines of teen angst and possible teenage pregnancy Grease sings and dances its way through to the grand finale which if you havent already guessed is the last day of the school year. Sandy transforms herself into a sex kitten and Danny drops his cool them and the rest of the gang sing about being frinds...

Advantages: All 3 seasons in one set Disadvantages: You'll have to save up
...With all three seasons in one set, this is excellent value for money.
Roswell follows the lives of 6 teenagers living in Roswell, New Mexico, home of the infamous 1950s alien spaceship crash. 3 of the teenagers are normal, human kids - and 3 are from a little further away and have special powers.
The 3 aliens have been living under the radar to avoid becoming the subject of government experimentation, but Max risks blowing their cover to save the life of his childhood sweetheart Liz.
As more people get drawn into the cover-up, more lives are at risk. Keep watching as a fourth (and then more) aliens are uncovered and as the teenagers struggle not to let their feeling for each other become any more than platonic.
A second alien race, a pregnancy and a special group of the FBI all threaten to uncover and destroy the aliens...
