Advantages: refreshing, sad and comic Disadvantages: slightly unbelieveable
...Remember when xmas was special, you couldn't wait till xmas morning to see what santa had brought because you had been thinking about it for so long? well, now you can feel like that again. Miracle on 34th street renews your faith in the true spirit of christmas and the magic that can happen then.
The modern version, taken from the 1940s classic, developes the story into a modern setting with ease. You are made to feel a part of it and by the end you too are wishing that he will be found to be Santa Clause.
The merry story is added by brilliant performences, none more so than by the most important character, Richard Attenborough; plays father christmas, in a truely magical way. His talent shines as always.
This film is ideal not only for christmas but any time someone is down as it restores your faith in human kind.
Most of all kids...
