Being one of Disney's biggest fans this is excellent entertainment for the whole family, computer animated film by Disney and Pixar. A Bugs Life is just full of fun and adventure from the word go.

The film is about Flik (voice of Dave Foley) who is an inventive ant tries to make an ants life easier, but unfortunately for him his ideas never seem to go to plan.

It is the day when a horde of very greedy grasshoppers are due to come to Ant Island and collect their share of the ants' annual harvest. Unfortunately Flik is trying out one of his inventions and whilst adding his collection of grain to the offering he accidentally knocks the whole lot of into a puddle never to be seen again. Flik then decides to run into the ant hill to tell Princess Atta (Julia Louis-Dreyfuss) but before he is able to say anything the grasshoppers arrive. Their leader Hopper (Kevin Spacey) is not very happy and tells the ants that they have a second chance and have until the end of the summer to get the offering back together again.

After a meeting with those in command Flik comes up with amazing idea to go and find warriors who will fight for the ants, he packs his bag and leaves Ant Island.

Flik doesn't take long to find his warriors but unknown to him they are just a bunch of circus clowns who have just been sacked by their boss P T Flea. Amongst the so called warriors is Manny the mantis and his partner Gypsy a multicoloured moth, Rosie a black widow spider (very friendly though), Dim the beetle (name does really suit him), Francis a manly ladybird, Heimlich a fat caterpillar, Slim a stick insect and Tuck & Roll pair of acrobatic bugs.

Thinking that Flik is a talent scout they decide (as they are out of a job anyway) to take him up on his offer and they all travel back to Ant Island. This is when the fun really begins as once Flik finds out who his warriors really are he has got to keep the rest of the colony under the impression that the warriors are fearless creatures.

I found this film totally amazing and will no doubt be looked upon one day as one of Disney's classics. Make sure you watch the credits as the outtakes are hilarious just like the film itself.

Sounds like a great movie to me, but HMV want £20 for it! I think not! Sounds like a lot of Disney fun though! Good op!

I liked Bug's Life but I feel that Antz just has the edge between the two films. Good op Sarah. Tom
