...The second series of ABOFAL is slightly sharper than the first, and funnier for it. If you have never seen the show before, you will probably find the tone of most of the jokes quite subtle but that is the beauty of the entire programme. Especially entertaining are the short "in-betweens" with Hugh often dresses as a lady and Stephen often in cab driver mode. Its irreverent humour at its best, a sort of 'Little Britain' for the intelligent! Dont get me wrong I like LB very much, but there is a distinctly higher level of intellect in ABOFAL which you simply dont see anymore in british comedy. Advantages: hilarious, brilliant comedy and even better picture quality than the t.v. version!
Disadvantages: laugh track kept on - can be a bit annoying

...a visit. A good episode, i've seen this one so many times, and is actually one of the first ones i ever saw on BBC 2. Each episode runs for about 20 minutes and has a brief indroduction, song and theme tune at the begining, as well as closing credits for each episode. The extra bits on this DVD, only three though, (are from series two): these are called 1.'Operation Kilt' this ones about were they are attacked by the 'enemy' Highland Regiment and must find what little courage they have to fight back and protect their terriotory. 2.'The Battle Of Godfrey's Cottage' - this is where poor Godfrey's cottage gets invaded by the fleet in order to convert it into a military holding to set up a machine post. 3. Disadvantages: is nothing compared to the original

Overall I'm awarding a 3 star rating, dispite it appearing they've actually put some effort into the DVD e.g. by addiing bonus trailers, interviews and clips it still doesn't detract from the point that it's not a good series and is really aimed at little children. I'm still surprised Rowan let this go ahead, although Mr Bean wasn't his creation, it is his image and the new t.v. series ruins what was a classic masterpiece 'Mr Bean'.
