Advantages: Interesting look at schizophrenia Disadvantages: Dull at times
John Nash is a brilliant mathematician, but has great difficulty in building relationships with other people. Luckily his room-mate at University befriends him and ensures that John's University life is happy outside of studying. On graduation, John lands an excellent job as a code-breaker, and manages to snare a beautiful young wife called Alicia, a former student. Then his life comes crashing down around him one day when he is committed to a mental ... ...with his brilliant career as a mathematician? And will Alicia stay with him? Russell Crowe plays John Nash. Not knowing the real man - the film is based on the real story of John Nash, who is still alive - I have no idea how close to type Crowe's performance is. Advantages: Very poignant and moving, helps you to understand and imagine what being schizophrenic is really like. Disadvantages: Being true to life, it was very vivid and depressing.

...Well...what can i say. This film was directed by Ron howard and is just brilliant. His way of directing blows me away everytime i see it.
The film is based on the real story of John Nash, who won the Nobel Prize. It basically centres around his medical problems and his need to discover something that doesnt exist. A constant hunt for the imaginary.
I always think it is hard to write a review of a film without spoiling the whole thing, but it is worth seeing Russel Crowe in a role that he is perfectly suited for and is acted so brilliantly.
A must see.
The DVD also contains many extra's including comments from Ron Howard on the making of the film. An added extra but does reveal things about the real John Nash...
