Let me tell you I have a good collection of this great Australian band both on CD and DVD but FAMILY JEWELS on DVD is really rather special.
Its totally packed with tracks, twenty on each DVD so you get two and a half hours of bliss. Everytime I slip Family jewels in the DVD player its a time to turn up the volume (make sure everybodys out ) and enjoy.
On DVD 1, its the original singer the late great Bon Scott era starting off with' BABY PLEASE DON'T GO' that will take you back to 1975 through to 1980 with 'HIGHWAY TO HELL'. Listen out for IT'S A LONGWAYTO THE TOP (1976) on track 4' which always get's me going.
DVD 2, Brings in the current AC/DC singer Brian ...
Advantages: Play and sing along to a band that truly defined rock music. Disadvantages: An expensive add-on for an already expensive game. Wii version lacks features.
Taking its inspiration from the earlier Singstar and Guitar Hero, Rock Band was one of the most successful playalong games of the past couple of years. Where previous games let you do vocals and guitar respectively, Rock Band lets you do both and you can have a go on the drums too. It's a ludicrously expensive game if you want to get the most out of it. A full set of instruments costs around £90, and the game another £30; you could almost buy an Xbox 360 for that, and you might well want to given that the Wii version is rather cut down. Given that the more recent editions of Guitar Hero offer a similar experience, with mutually incompatible equipment, it can be an expensive business if you're into these kinds of games.
AC/DC don't need much of an introduction, being one of the defining bands or heavy rock that have sold hundreds ...
Advantages: Bon Scott's voice, great riffs, everythin Disadvantages: Some weaker songs which sound alike
medium rare"
Track 5: Beating Around The Bush
Another very heavy start to this track, it is probably the heaviest track so far, but Bon Scott's vocals are very powerful, it's no where near as good as Touch Too Much or Highway to Hell, but the riffs are out of this world and as are his vocals, the production of the song is just brilliant, I love the way the guitars get heavy and then disparate whilst his singing them come back very heavy.
A good track, it really would make good use of your speakers, at the moment I'm listening to the album on my crappy laptop speakers, and I have to say that I can hear the song praying to be let loose on a great pair of speakers. A good heavy song which is just brilliant.
Final Opinion: 8/10 (Not as good as some but it's a true AC/DC song)
