Advantages: Sensitively done, real life, excellent footage, well directed. Disadvantages: Could be distressing for those who are easily upset.
For those of you who don't know, on September 11th, 2001, hijackers took over four US flights and an act of terrorism against the US decided to fly these planes into pre-planned targets. One of these targets was the Twin Towers in New York, America. The other targets were the Pentagon and another unknown target, thought to be the home of the President - the Whitehouse. The day shook the world and shocked everyone. Many died on that day and it will ... ...was soon discovered that the terrorists belonged to a terrorist network called Al-Quida, with the head of the organisation and now the world's most wanted man - Osama Bin Laden.
This documentary was supposed to be about a new firefighter who has just started out on his career. The french film makers who were filming the whole process had been stationed with a New York firestation for months, with not a lot happening and no real fires.

This is a harrowing account of New Yorks worse day, 9/11.
To begin with the filmmakers, Guedeon and Jules Naudet are making a documentary about a rookie firefighter in a New York firehouse, Engine 7, ladder 1, what they actually capture on film is disturbing, frightening and upsetting for even the toughest of people.
This is an accurate account of what happened on that day, from the first plane hitting, the only footage in existence, to the conditions ... ...the search and rescue operations and is testament to the bravery of the firefighters, police, and ordinary people caught up in this tragedy.
From the beginning of the film to the end , you are willing the firefighters from 'the house' to make it out of the the Towers and to be safe, you get that involved in what you are watching.

On the morning of September 11, while the production was still in the early stages of filming, the project become something that no one could ever have expected. The Naudet brothers accompanied the firefighters that morning to the World Trade Center, capturing on film their valiant efforts to get survivors to safety. Originally broadcast on CBS television, 9/11 is a heartfelt, often shocking-- but never exploitative--portrayal of the horrific events of that historic and tragic day. A portion of the proceeds from the video will benefit the Uniformed Firefighters' Association Scholarship Fund.
