...Trainspotting, based on the book of the same name by Irvine Welsh, tells the story of Renton, a young Edinburgh junkie and his odd band of friends. This film was accused of glamourising drug addiction but this simply isn't the case. We see the protagonists is desperate states as their addiction takes hold, and there is nothing glamourour about Tommy's eventual death from aids. Ewen Mcgregor is good in the central role, as is Robert Carlye as Begbie, the psychopath. The soundtrack is excellent, featuring the best of Britpop and by the end of the film, Renton has kicked his addiction and is making a new start in London. Although this film deals with serious topics, there are some funny moments....

Im Spent Review ofAustin Powers - The Spy Who Shagged Me DVDby
Nickfeather
Advantages: hilarious storyline and excellent jokes Disadvantages: none @ all
...This is one hell of a film, hilarious, glamourous and Sexy! This film is better than the 1st one, far funnier, this time Felicity Shagwell is his assistant and my how gorougous she is!
Dr Evil comes back to earth and he plots to take over the world once more. This time Austin is in 1999 and Dr Evil is back in the 60's and he has used his agent "Fat Bastard" lol to steel Austin's Mojo.
Austin endeavours to go back into the the 60's via a time machine and get his mojo back.
The film goes on and on and.........I wont tell you the ending.
Much better than the first and a great sequel.
10/10...

Advantages: Good storey, well shot and produced Disadvantages: none
...Not normally my sort of thing, but my girlfriend wanted to watch it so she won! Great story, really well made, especially the 50's/60's parts of the films, great to see 'lesser known' actors and production team churning out a good, watchable film.
The story is set in modern times, with the actors reminising about the life they had as young adults in the 50's and 60's.
Their relationships with each other and their families is really good and ends up being a but of a tear jerker (I didn't cry - honest!)
We have just brought the book to read as well as the storey is so good, I must say, as per normal, the book is much better than the film, but the film is well worth a watch...
