Advantages: Excellent Series Disadvantages: It is best to watch the original movie first
...You may remeber the original Stargate film from 1996 starring James Spader. This series follows on from the film. The series mixes science fiction with fantasy and history. It seems we were visited by aliens many years ago who colonised our world and built a stargate in Eqypt, other planets were colonised as well and stargates were left on these worlds. The stargate is a transportation device. The baddies in the film all have an eqyptian feel to them and include Seth among others. Advantages: Good sound track Disadvantages: Poor Quality
...I fully expected these recordings to be of a poor quality compared to today's standards as they would obviously be in the region of 50 years old. However, this DVD appears to be a compilation of various VHS recordings that have been recorded from recordings ...... from recordings ....... from recordings etc. until the quality has rendered the DVD virually unwatchable. In some cases the artists are barely recognisable. I wouldn't pay 22 pence for it. NOT RECOMMENDED....

Shroud
Advantages: original series, classic family entertainment, reinforces great values Disadvantages: lack of episode continuity within the series in distribution
...throughout the world while facing many personal challenges. This particular disc is a follow onto Vol 1 (I will review that when I locate the Caio listing), and contains 5 episodes. The episodes are:
The Big Star Round-Up (episode 7, series 2)
The Camp Out (episode 8, series 2)
Bravest of the Brave (episode 10, series 2)
The Long Lost Care Bears (episode 11, series 2)
Birthday Bear's Blues (episode 12, series 2)
The disc is 110 minutes long, and the episodes appear to be complete and unedited. the transfer from film is excellent, and the sound is clear and unmuffled, which is a niggle I often find on cheap DVD editions. It is no frills, so without any extras, though occasionally I have seen this edition released around holidays with a bonus Care Bear cuddly toy with it. My only complaint is while it is inexpensive enough, the series only ran...
