When released in 2 September 2005 the headline of the film caught many people’s including my self’s attention. Sex is always introduced in topics of any categories to some people, however to others it’s a topic that is not to be mentioned. I was drawn in by the headline, as it closely explains to plot of the film. The plot of the films consists of Andy (played by Steve Carell) accidentally tells his work mates over a game of poker that at the age of 40, he still hasn’t had sex. This is something that Andy later on regrets, as now his friends from work are now on a mission, to get him laid. After a few attempts, Andy is still unsuccessful, until he meets single mum Trish (played by Catherine Keener). They all in love together, however he doesn’t tell her he’s a virgin, and they agree to wait 20 dates before they have sex, after 20 dates what will Andy do? The only disadvantages I found while watching this film where the running times, and the over the top sexual humour. The running time is 116 minutes, however this was too long as I believe the story started to drag along, and I became less interested in the film Another disadvantages was the humour, this film includes a lot of sexual humour, some of it I believe became over the top and a bit offensive,
The film won 5 awards, after being nominated for 6, this was a great success for the film, one of the awards was for best supporting actress to Catherine Keener, Catherine was a inspiring character throughout the film, as she played the part well. This hilarious film also won the best comedy movie award of the year, (2006) which I believe deserved this award. This film was the best comedy of that year, and for many years. One of the best things about this film that I enjoyed the most was that it was approaching a topic, that can be difficult of people to talk about, however the approach to the topic with the over the op sexual humour spoiled the film a bit.

I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good? If you add to this, or if you change it to be posted as a "Film Only" review, which can be done by accessing "edit review" above the review and changing the drop down menu under the "Which format are you reviewing?" question at the bottom, please let me know and I'll re-rate.
