Advantages: Engaging Story Lines Disadvantages: Lack of special effects due to production period
From the genre of horror, these 3classics can bring enjoyment to all those that appreciate horror of high quality. With the use of compelling storylines and gruesome images, the viewer is left always anxious at what would come next - that's how true horror began to develop. Through these elements, those who watch it forget the fanciful special effects that present day cinema offers and is taken in by this collection's creative brilliance.
All 3 movies in this collection engage the viewers irreversibly by their clever plot lines and cinematic professionalism. "Little Shop of Horrors" focusses more on the "horrible" part of horror movies, whereas "The Bat" proves as having more of a psychological effect on the viewers. "The Bride of the Monster" is for all those who are interested in the horror genre as a whole - one of the movies that ...
Advantages: Really challenging psychologically Disadvantages: No special features
journey with Mary. What Carnival Of Souls lacks in special effects, and general viewing delight it doubles up in psychological terror. I can quite honestly say this is the only older horror movie that affects me in any way. Its effect time, after time, after time does not diminish; it just grows in intensity.
The most alarming part of the movie is the ending! It has a very modern final end that comes at you like a bolt from the blue. This ending delivers the joy of that ?Oh My GOD!? scenario that gives you a buzz from head to toe, so often delivered in the past but seldom now.
Carnival Of Souls is not without controversy, hideously cut in the 60?s in order to get the movie into cinemas, it was not seen on television in the UK until 1998. When in 2000 all the parts of the movie, much of which was considered lost shortly after director Herk ...
Advantages: A Bucket of Blood and House on Haunted Hill Disadvantages: The Ghoul
A Bucket of Blood is one of my favourite classics. An enjoyable 'Wax Museum' genre that takes a slightly different approach. This time, the artist is actually very slow witted and has no talent, as you will see. He works at a coffee shop full of poets and art buffs and wants so desperately to join their world. So, one thing leads to another, and, if your familiar with the genre, you know how it goes.
House on Haunted Hill is one of the great classics of all time. A brilliant classic, but is it horror or is it murder-mystery. To answer that question, i would have to spoil it. So, watch and find out for yourself, you won't be dissappointed.
Unfortunately, The Ghoul is probably one of Karloff's worst. Karloff is one of my favourites, but he doesn't really act in this one. The story is very slow, and doesn't build up to ...
