At last it has arrived. The film that all boy racers and car fanatics drool over, the sequel to The Fast and the Furious! 2 Fast 2 Furious had a lot to live up to, was it as good as the first? You damn right it was!
THE FAST AND FURIOUS STORYLINE Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) a recently retired cop is back on the streets hitting the pedal to the metal in his usually tuned up automobiles. If you don’t remember the first one or haven’t seen it, at the end of the last movie O’Connor let one of his suspects go this is why he is no longer a cop.
Brian O’Connor is still the fastest around winning race upon race with style. The police catch him on one of the street races. They do him a deal; they will wipe his record clean if he does a job for the police undercover. Their job is to transport a shipment of dirty money for a shady import/export dealer Carter Verone (Cole Hauser) whilst working with a sexy undercover agent Monica Clemente (Eva Mendes). Oh its tough for film stars now a days! Brian O’Connor teams up with Roman pierce (Tyrese) one of his ex-con pals, which he grew up with. Together with Monica they must bring Carter down.
MY FAST AND FURIOUS OPINION Well, the film did really surprise me. I expected some cheesy poor storyline that was going to be a flop compared to the first just to make some quick money. I was certainly proved wrong. In fact I thought this movie was just a little better than the first. One thing i did like in the movie is that you got to see more of the street racing and narrative. The street racing scenes certainly were fast and were defiantly furious with non-stop action. It almost had the nitro pumping out of your veins. There were a lot more stunts to this one and more special effects, which I think, improve any movie.
Gladly Vin Diesel was not in the second one for reasons, which i don't know but i did hear that they couldn’t afford him. Instead of him was Roman Pierce played by tyrese, who to be fair did a very good job and played a great role. On the whole acting was very strong by all that were in it. He is one bad ass, with a lot of attitude.
The storyline was very strong and there was certainly a lot of pleasant surprises and had a great theatrical ending which you expect in most action movies. I won't tell you what it is but it involves a car and a boat, il let you use your imagination! A criticism i do have about the movie is some of the dialogue. It seemed to me that all Paul Walker ever said was 'bro' in every single line, which did get a little annoying. I really can't pick fault with the movie as there isn’t really anything to pick fault with!
One thing I particularly liked which gave an edge to the movie is that the cars in this movie can be stopped using a electromagnetic spear gun, which shuts the car down. This element that they can actually be caught makes it seem more realistic than that of the first one.
The soundtrack is very high tempo blood flowing stuff, which gets you into the movie. Its quite impressive. Helps build the excitement.
THE FAST AND FURIOUS INFORMATION The genre of this movie is action adventure. It has a certificate 12A and a running time of 100 mins approx. It is directed by John Shingleton. It is playing at cinemas now.
THE FINISHLINE If you like heart racing high speed entertainment with lots of surprises, humour and excitement then this is defiantly worth a watch. Its just wayyy to fast and way to furious!
