As a man who has let the 'great' American shows pass him by somewhat, I bought the first season of '24' with a feeling of anticipation, excitement and hope that the hype I had heard surrounding this now phenomenon of a show was true.
Luckily for me, it was.
Season One of 24 throws you head first into the world of Jack Bauer, Los Angeles CTU Agent. Jack Bauer is a family man whose world becomes turned upside down before your eyes in 'the longest day of his life'. Jack's anguish becomes the viewer's delight, as 24 delightfully tense, pulsating episodes unfold in real time before your eyes. Like a book you just can't put down, addiction quickly sets in and each brilliant hour flies past. Like twists with your tension? 24 Season One won't let you down. After an exhilirating climax, 24 has you in a vice, and the first season is just the beginning of it all...
At the time of writing, websites such as Play.com is selling boxsets for just £17.99. I urge those who have not yet experienced 24 to buy Season One, and if, like me, you are left yearning for more, the fun won't stop there.
Summary: An incredible introduction to a television phenomenon
Decent overview of the series itself, but I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD features. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good? If you add to this, or if you change it to be posted as a "Film Only" review, which can be done by accessing "edit review" above the review and changing the drop down menu under the "Which format are you reviewing?" question at the bottom, please let me know and I'll re-rate.
