Advantages: A great DVD for all the family to watch! Disadvantages: Its only the first three.....
...When I first heard that Doctor Who was coming back, I groaned. For me, it seemed that it was out of place in the 21stcentury, best kept for stories of 'the old days'. Yet, now, after the end of the first series, I am , I admit, a Doctor who addict. So, as you can tell, the first series, to me at least, was pretty good!
This DVD contains the first three episodes- Rose, The End of the World and The Unquiet dead. The Doctor is played by the brilliant Christopher Eccleston, and Rose, the Doctors companion, is played bye the equally brilliant Billie Piper. The first two episodes were written by Russell T Davies, and the third by Mark Gatiss
In Rose, Rose meets the Doctor for the first time at her work, where he procceeds to blow the place up. As he tells her, there is a plot to take over the world, by..... well, I won...

Advantages: very funny Disadvantages: sometimes a bit tedious jokes very "samey"
...Austin powers has amused us all for years now and in each film finds a new angle to amuse us by playing on the spy classics of the 21stcentury. But i cant help feeling that if they made an austin powers 4 i might just slit my wrists (ok maybe thats a bit too extreme but you get the hint). If you have seen Austin 1 & 2 then austin 3 is definately worth a look but you'd only need to watch it once, any more and you could almost repeat the script word for word. The bonus is the DVD extras are fantastic! lots of nosey behind the scenes info and music videos to boot! it is worth buying just for the extras if nothing else!...

Advantages: Great For Watching Again & Again (and no ad breaks!!) Disadvantages: No Extra Features, and is only the 2nd Part of the 1st Season
...of this accompanied by the show's rock soundtrack!!
Season 2 will be beginning in the US next week, on the brand new CW Channel and viewers will finally learn what happens next!!
I personally cannot wait to see what Season 2 has in store for us......
This Part 2 boxset is retailing at anywhere from £17.99 up to £23.99 and was released on the 21st August 2006.
I was rather disappointed to discover that there were no extra features on the DVD - again!! Even more so when you hear what extras were added to the US DVD releases.
There are no behind the scenes features or gag reels or commentaries, which is a real shame as I think they would have a good incentive.
The Complete Season 1 boxset is scheduled for release at the start of October which will offer better value for money, but there is no mention of any bonus features on there either...
