I don't know what it say about me, but I like films were people beat the system, for example Ocean's 11, Inside Man etc and so I was looking forward to this film for a while. Even more so because the film is based upon fact. 21 is based on the book 'Bringing Down The House' by Ben Mezrich.
What's it all about?
The film is centres on the character of Ben Campbell played by Jim Sturgess. He is a student at MIT in Boston, who desperately wants to get into Harvard Medical School to become a doctor. The film opens with him being interviewed for a scholarship there, as paying is out of the question.
The interview doesn't appear to be going so well, but then the story turns to Ben in maths class and here his natural ability shines. So much so, that he draws the attention of his lecturer played by Kevin Spacey. He is ...

Sunday afternoon weather outside is terrible and I am getting over a bad cold so I decided to watch Munich the dvd. I had high hopes for this DVD prior to viewing having read a book about the Munich massacre and seen the excellent documentary One Day in September 1999. However I was very disappointed by the film, which tells of the massacre of eleven Israeli athletes in the Olympic games in Munich in 1972, which is the factual part of the film and The Israel government's response to the massacre, which is considered to be part fiction/part fact.
The actual fact of the kidnap and massacre of the athletes is told in various flashbacks throughout the film, which I thought was a major fault of the film. The kidnapping and massacre of the athletes should have been shown at the start of the film as anyone unfamiliar with the story ...

The Hours
I simply loved this film, it's one of my most favourite movies ever!
I've watched it repeatedly since its premiere I went to see to the cinema with my best friend. When we got out, we were both stunned and later she said she didn't know what was supposed to happen after the end of the film, whether we'd start kissing or if the world was just gonna end. I don't mean to be pathetic, but the emotional impression was really deep for me, too.
Three women in their search for happiness reads the subtitle. We'll come to find the obvious - there is no such a perfect life or happiness, since the life always has new quests to drag us through and it's up to us to find something that can make us happy for a while. Difficult as it is, we'll see it on three examples.
Performance
I'm in love with Meryl Streep ...
