The film 21 is based on the book Bringing Down The House by Ben Mezrich, a true story of how a group of MIT students made a fortune counting cards in Las Vegas.

It took 10 years for Kevin Spacey (actor and producer in this film) to track down this amazing story and set about turning it into film.
The film centers around Ben Campbell, a gifted MIT student who gains a place at Harvard Law only to discover the fees are $300,000, a figure he doesn't have. An opportunity then presents itself for him to join a team of card counters at MIT, headed by him maths professor (Kevin Spacey), who count cards in Vegas at weekends making a fortune.

The film tells the story of how fortunes are won and lost in Vegas and how the money and power can change even the most grounded of people.
The film's director was rather an obscure choice as Robert Luketic, who had previously directed Legally Blond, this film however is a stark contrast, with slick visuals, glossy cinematography and a highly stylish finish.

All in all the film has a captivating story with excellent actors and an excellent production finish. I remember wanting to see this when it came to the cinemas but unfortunately missed it. Watching it on DVD was worth the wait as this film lives up to its trailer, something not many films can do.
Its an excellent film thats well worth watching.

Warning: You may find yourself wanting to learn how to count cards after watching this move.

Good review of the film itself, although I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD features. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good? If you add to this, or if you change it to be posted as a "Film Only" review, which can be done by accessing "edit review" above the review and changing the drop down menu under the "Which format are you reviewing?" question at the bottom, please let me know and I'll re-rate.
