Advantages: good cast, great costumes Disadvantages: not as memorable as some
...Carry On ... Don't Lose Your Head ! was made in 1966 & was another venture into history for the films. This one is set at the time of the French Revolution & features lots of stereotypical French & English characters & plenty of snipes at the aristocracy !
French actress, Dany Robin, plays the role of Jacqueline in this one, adding her sexy accent & curvy figure to the ever-present charms of the core cast.
Sid James plays Sir. Rodney Ffing ('with two Fs') AKA the Black Fingernail, lisping & mincing his way through set pieces of well choreographed dances & beautiful locations & clothes.
The cast are very good, the sets & scenery are wonderful & the story is good too, but somehow this one has never been one of my favourites. It is worth watching though....

Advantages: A great score and an overall gritty film. Disadvantages: none
...This film is in my opinion, the bst of Sergio Leone's Dollars Trilogy. Since 1966, this film has stood the test of time, and has been homaged many times including in Kill Bill Vol2. Being a fan of the Spagetti Western genre, i liked this film and i feel it would be a good introduction into Spagetti Westerns and Sergio Leion's work.
If this film was made in the United States, it would have won lots of Oscars, if not for the acting, then at least for the brilliant directing. The haunting score will stay in your mind forever. Also the DVD comes with enhanced sound that lives up to the spirit of Sergio Leone and is wonderfully packaged. Its worth every penny....

Advantages: Gives those not born and those that witnessed it the chance to see England in their greatest sporting triumph. Disadvantages: Price is a little hefty
...Being only 21 I had never seen Englands only World Cup win from 1966 - we are regularly shown the infamous final goal "they think it's all over...it is now!" but with this DVD we now have a chance to see the full match.
The dvd features the original black and white BBC coverage of the match, with Kenneth Wolstenholme commentating. It features disputed goals, clattering tackles, last-minute equalisers and dodgy officials - the question of whether the Russian linesman would have allowed the final winning goal if it had not been against West Germany has been a regular question over the years.
Extras include an alternative match commentary provided by five of the England team themselves - Jack Charlton, Martin Peters, Geoff Hurst, George Cohen and Gordon Banks which is often humourous and filled with recollections of their memory...
