- Obviously you can chose how long you want to work out for. When you're pushed for time, you can just do a 10 minute section and you still feel like you have at least done something. When you've ... ...you only have to last 10 mins if you want and so the chances are you will finish the section you have chosen. You are not throwing yourself into a full on 40 minute work out, getting tired, giving up half way through (or skipping bits) and then feeling bad about not completing it.
- You can concentrate on the areas that you want. I had my second baby 7 months ago, so I have concentrated on the abs and buns and thighs!
I have bought a good many exercise videos and DVD's in my time, many of which have been used a few times before I've grown bored of them and they have ended up gathering dust somewhere. However, I have had this DVD a few months now and I think it's fantastic! If like me you have a busy life style and need to fit a lot into your day, then this DVD is perfect.
I really love the fact that it is broken down into manageable bit size sections. There are 5 sections in total each lasting 10 minutes.
The sections are: 1 Pilates for abs 2 Pilates for buns and thighs 3 Sculpting Pilates 4 Pilates Burn 5 Pilates for flexibility
The Pro's: - Obviously you can chose how long you want to work out for. When you're pushed for time, you can just do a 10 minute section and you still feel like you have at least done something. When you've got more time and feel like a good work out you can do all 5 sections.
- The DVD does not feel daunting! When you start, you know that you only have to last 10 mins if you want and so the chances are you will finish the section you have chosen. You are not throwing yourself into a full on 40 minute work out, getting tired, giving up half way through (or skipping bits) and then feeling bad about not completing it.
- You can concentrate on the areas that you want. I had my second baby 7 months ago, so I have concentrated on the abs and buns and thighs!
- I have found that the exercises really do make a difference if you keep at it.
- The DVD is structured very well and the instructor gives you clear instructions and seems to know exactly when you might be struggling or doing something wrong and gives the appropriate suggestions/hints throughout.
- I like the fact that I cannot yet do all the positions on the DVD, as it gives me something to aim for and I can see my progress.
The Con's: - I wouldn't say that this DVD is for beginners to Pilates. Because of the snappy nature of the DVD, it does not spend time explaining about the importance of correct breathing or spend a lot of time ensuring you are in the correct position. It's more of a 'let go' type thing.
Advantages: You can pick which part of the workout you want to do.... Disadvantages: ...which may encourage you not to do the whole thing!
...is made up of 5 10 minute work-outs, which are all individual, targeting different body parts, without being too repetitive. It's great if you don't have enough time to do an hour's exercise a day, because you can select which exercise you want to do, or if you've got a particular part of your body you want to tone up, you can just focus on that part. OR you can combine every session to make up a full 50 minute work out - ouch!

This ... ...to strengthen your upper and lower stomach. It starts with 'the hundred', a standard Pilates warm-up, and continues with crunches, something called the 'frogs legs', and various others.
*** Legs and buns ***
All of these exercises involve laying down, which is great becuase it really doesn't feel like you're exercising!! It starts with leg lifts on each side, then a variety of exercises, like 'the mermaid', and hip lifts. You can really feel it ...
