Boy meets Girl, Boy grows up
Review of The Sure Thing DVD by  mmpr

Advantages: Our favourite film
Disadvantages: Probably too gentle for some

...happen during the journey and Gib gets a chance to prove that he is far more of a gentleman than the rogue we saw at first. Cusack is first class in this film. We videoed it years ago and I recently tracked down and bought an original as we were concerned that the old copy might clap out on us. The Sure Thing
Review of The Sure Thing DVD by  Smith

Advantages: Hilarious romantic comedy.
Disadvantages: Unlike other John Cusack films, this does NOT feature a single fire arm. Don't be disappointed.

...Rob Reiner directs this enchanting romantic comedy about a boy who wants a girl and a girl who wants a man. The boy is Gib (John Cusack) who is out to find 'The Sure Thing'. Both in search of romance, but not with eachother, until... Well, without spoiling the plot there is a rip-roaring ride across America. All the way Cusack throws in all his usual wit and flair (similar to Grosse Pointe Blank). This film is for anyone who remembers (or is still going through) their days of chasing members of the opposite sex around college, and in my opinion is a must for all... Read review
