Advantages: The title isn't an exageration - an essential part of any cricket fan's DVD collection Disadvantages: A great test deserves higher production values
...Cricket doesn't get any better than those four barmy summer days in August 2005 when the Ashes were reborn. Little did we know that when Glenn McGrath trod on that stray cricket ball on the Thursday morning it was just the start of The Greatest Test.
As far as the DVD is concerned it is a competent account of the match, but it suffers a little for the speed at which it was released. In order to capitalise on the Ashes fever of Summer '05 the Sunset and Vine production company rushed out this DVD within two weeks. So while the action is well presented, the links between days and sessions are a little too amateurish and the Menu screens lack the crispness of a well prepared DVD.
But to be honest I don't care. When the cricket is of this standard you can forgive any slight production failures, and just sit back and enjoy the feast...

...A Century of Cricket is probably the best DVD I have purchased for under £5.Presented by David Gower, it features some of Crickets greatest players such as: Sir Donald Bradman, Viv Anderson, W B Grace, Brian Lara and Shane Warne.
The DVD lasts in total for about two hours. As expected from the title the footage begins in the early 1900's, where limited footage of early cricket is shown.
Some bonus features of the DVD include: Full One Day International Records; Full Test Cricket Records; Comprehensive First Class Records; Profiles On Top 40 Cricketers Of All Time; Special Section On Top 5 Greatest Ever Players. Also includes footage of Gloustershire's four consecutive one day trophy wins.
If I was asked what my favourite section of the DVD was then I would probably say the ashes footage form the 1930's. Seeing Don Bradman failing...
